So Leviathans from Catalyst is a superb flying ships steampunk game. The initial price may seem high at up to £80 but what you get and the quality is superb. 8 very nice ships, rulebooks, stat cards, map boards, flying stands, dice etc. Its all there. Now reading the rules might put you off but dont let it. Once you have the game infront of you the mechanics make perfect sense and the game flows really well. Once they release the other nations fleets this is gonna be a great multi-player game too.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing this! After a couple of turns, it all started to become clear... very intuitive! At the risk of being unpatriotic; I found the French Fleet good to use because of their speed..... and I had an overwhelming urge to paint a shark's mouth design on the bows...... that battleship looks like a Great White! Maybe if I flew The Jolly Roger instead of The Tricolour it would ease my conscience!? To be honest, there is nothing stopping anyone from changing the nationalities of these 2 fleets....... maybe a few colour changes, a different flag up the mast etc. You could go potty and print a set of stat-cards with your 'new' flag and appropriate ship names.... just laminate them and you're good to go!
