Spearpoint 1943 is a new fast playing card game that uses 175 tactical Unit Cards, Command Cards, and Damage Cards to simulate plausible frontline combat at a fast pace.
Squad level infantry and individual tanks, artillery, and aircraft form the Tip of the Spear, or Spearpoint, of each battle. Each 20-30 minute game is one intense card-based combat engagement.
Collins also produce quite a range of expansion for this system too.

Let me know how you get on. Not sure my wallet can handle me starting another card game after last years Magic experiment lol. Not unless i'm sure it'll be a damn fine game at least

Well Martin and I played this last night and can safely say its a great game. The rules are 4 sides of A4, nut if you take the pics and credits out its really only 2 sides. The cards are well produced, the rules are well thought out and the game play is challenging without being too difficult. Combat is simple your unit card has weapon stats on it and you roll 2 D10 and try to equal or better that number to hit and once hit you then make a damage roll to beat the enemies armour. Damage cards are very well produced and cater for Infantry, Armour, Artillery and Air all on one card so very neat. Command cards add a cool element to the game and keep you thinking. Cant wait for the next game of this, its an excellent game if you dont fancy dragging out the scenery box.

Does it feel suitably 'Historic' or does it feel like a card game that has the veneer of WW2 on top?

For me suitably historic. I will let Martin tell you what he thinks.

I totally agree with what Steve said! It was even better and more fun than I expected! I was impressed with how so few components could replicate all the things that would happen on a battlefield! Experience will make this game flow even quicker! The rules sheet will need to be read through completely a couple of times before play..... trying it out in 'stages' doesn't work as key rules are to be found near the end! The trickiest bit was deciding what units to use when assembling your force.... as this is done 'blind'..... neither of you know what the other side has until you commit to battle! And all you need apart from the cards are 2 D10s! I look forward to many more games of this! Great stuff!
