Warlord Games and Wayland Games

Hi All

You've probably seen my posts on the Hail Caesar! tab.

I have recently gotten into Pike and Shotte, and am currently building a Royalist army. I am fairly okay with the rules as I have self taught myself, my force isn't huge however.

Would anyone who lives near Hockley (Essex) be willing to play a small game of Pike and Shotte at Tabletop Nation Aka. Wayland Games any time soon.

Hey pal, I've also got a smallish force of Royalists built from the 'Starter Battalia' box set. I'm also self taught, and will more than happily arrange games at some point with you. I'm a little bit busy at the moment (just preparing to start a new job) but say six to eight weeks to allow me to settle into a new routine and I'm sure we can get some games in over the summer.

I know that Canada Steve had some ECW at some point (though I'm unsure if he still has them or not) and Martin Hatt has said he is going to get involved with either a Parliamentary or Scottish force.

I'll be purchasing a starter Battlia at the end of the month, been trying to get round to starting ECW for ages.

Ah fantastic, I have the rule book, wouldn't be a problem for me to bring it along.
Does anyone want to set a points value so we'd know what sort of game we'll be playing, also we need a set date... Just depends really on when people are free.

Pretty sure we had set 300 points for he first game.

16 men in a pike unit (4x4)
8 men in a shotte unit (4x2)
6 men in a horse unit (6x1)
10 men in a firelock unit (5x2)

Then added a pack of foot command from the Perry metals, as well as a pack of unarmoured pike and a pack of mounted commanders.

This added to the starter battalia gives you:

2 units of pike with 4 sleeves of shotte. (34 pts for pike and 27 pts for shotte)
2 units of commanded shotte. (34 pts each)
1 firelock storming party. (34 pts)
4 units of horse. (41 pts each)
Commander(s). Overall, Infantry and Cavalry so three models will do (40 pts each)

That should work out at around 450 points all told, if I remember rightly.

Edits in bold: That's actually 562 points.

This is what makes up my Royalist force, though I've taken a few extra unit upgrade etc. to round off at 575 points for now. Will eventually be adding another Infantry division with a further two units of poke and 4 of shotte, as well as branching out into 6mm ECW from Baccus.

Right I have placed a Pike and shotte order with Warlord.

I decided to go with the Scots in the end and have ordered quite a large army to keep me busy.
I haven't worked out points but this is what my army should look like.

First Battlia

1) Block of pike with two musketeer units
2) Block of pike with two musketeer units
3) Storming party
4) Scots Frame Gun

Second Battalia

1) Block of pike with two musketeer units
2) Block of pike with two musketeer units
3) Block of pike with two musketeer units
4) Medium Gun.

First Cavalry Wing
Scots lancers
Scots cavalry

Second Cavalry wing
Scots lancers
Scots cavalry

So once I have some assembled I can set a date with who ever fancies a game

Each Infantry Battlia and Cavalry Wing also needs a Commander (40 pts each), with one designated as the armies overall Commander.
