Picked up this ruleset at Salute and must say it reads really well. Straightforward rules without any silly complications and a interesting card driven mechanic for activation etc. Also picked up a North Star French starter force for this with Jon getting the Indians. Can be used for all the Canadian wars through to the AWI which is great for me.

Cool, done by the same design team who did SAGA I believe. There any rules for Brits in there? I might grab a boxset of Perry AWI Brits if there are.

There are army lists for Brits, Germans, French, Indians, Canadians, Militia and Civvies in there mate. The rule are really very nice and should make the game flow quickly.

I never did pick up that box of brits, as you lads never did seem to get going properly. Looks like a good decision if you've still not managed to get a game in!

I've had my French painted since April mate waiting for a game but Mr McDonald is proving to be more and more elusive these days now he is a proper copper. JAG games have really been reduced to mainly Martin and myself on a regular basis with the occasional guest appearance from Jon and Brian lol.

Martin and I carry the JAG flag for 15mm historicals still (sort of, since Martin got a new job). Sucks you always seem to game on the days i'm working!
I've resorted to going into GW to get a game of the Hobbit recently just to throw some dice on the table, it's getting that desperate!

Still need to kick this one off as some Historical gaming is much needed at the moment.

Well its been a year and my force for this has sat in the box waiting to kill someone, anyone ! I would really like to get some games of this going and maybe expand it to cover the AWI period that I love so much. I want to paint a Continental army. So after Salute and Diceni I want to intersperse this with FoW. Martin, Chris and anyone else if you are interested the rules read really well.

Next time we play FoW leave the rulebook where I can have a quick readthrough, if I can do AWI with a single box of Perry plastics i'm game. I don't really have much interest in the French-Indian wars though to be honest.

Also, regarding the AWI, have you considered 15mm rather than 28mm? You could do 15mm AWI skirmish with a single pack of miniatures, or a couple of blisters from Peter Pig. Base them on pennies and you're golden.
I've been considering starting 15mm ACW over the summer, as i'm now on the home stretch of both my Carthaginian and FoW forces. Though AvP stuff will be with me soonish.

So what's the official verdict on the new WGF factory stuff? Is this getting off the ground now?

It looks great quality with very nice detail. I've been disciplined enough not to build any of it yet as I have been giving priority to what's still on the workbench! Gradually getting there..... progress is good when my eyesight is up to it! (tends to vary a bit, due to the dodgey diabetes-control) :/
