Watched this great film last night and it really inspired me to want to produce a table of the village. Write my own rules and have two sides Yanks vs Krauts. Can start the Krauts as Polish Free Airborne and then carry on from there.
Will start putting pen to paper I think on this.

And thinking on this might do it in 15mm that way I can make the table big enough to have the Yanks stationed at their base and have to race in jeeps etc down the table to rescue the village.

Never heard of the film before so looked it up on Wikipedia, sounds bloody cool! Not too sure about the Yanks having to save our bacon in the south of England but hey ho Hollywood!
I'd be interested in playing it, and I could help with making the table and whatnot. Doubt I'd collect a 15mm army for it though, as I already have 15mm Germans for Flames of War.

You havent heard of The Eagle Has Landed !!! fudge a duck mate lol..... Its a fantatstic Michael Caine film. Herr Oberst Steiner.
As for collecting a huge army, it isnt needed this is a small scale engagement. The German force totals around 15-20 men, they start as Poles then when discovered are Fallschirmjager. The Yanks start with 4 Jeeps and 14 men who eventually get reinforced with a further 16 men plus a armoured half track.
