What a absolutely fantastic crossover game. It sits nicely between wargaming and board gaming. The components are strong and well made with excellent detail. I would highly recommend this to anyone out there.

I have to admit that I was initially a bit dubious about this concept...... boy, was I mistaken when I jumped to the wrong conclusion about the mechanics and content. This grabbed my interest within about 5 minutes of starting to play. No huge rule book to digest and constantly refer back to, all the info you need is on the tabletop once you understand some basic (and logical) rules. All kinds of battles and scenarios can be instantly played without having to build and paint armies & scenery, or even laboriously compile army lists. Your skill and cunning develop easily with each game played and after a short while you even forget that you are not gaming with miniature figures! A great quality game with absorbing depth and more add-on sets on the way! Next up: D-Day landings

D-Day expansion arrived on Saturday morning so as soon as I can schedule some time in we will be storming the beaches.

Well with the US, German and Commonwealth Army Box sets now purchased this game is going on at a great rate. The game is superb and so easy to learn but will take ages to master.

Well...... We finally got around to giving the D-Day expansion a go last Friday evening. What a blast!! My U.S. troops attempted to storm the beach and plant explosives in a German-held emplacement..... how hard could THAT be? (I foolishly thought!) Cue: storms of Mg42 gunfire that sunk one of my landing-craft in turn one, thereby cutting my reinforcements by 1/3 in subsequent turns The German troops stubbornly held on to the high ground and prevented me scaling the cliffs. I REALLY could have used a Sherman DD!! The game was great fun, and despite suspecting some sneaky, Teutonic sabotage of my dice, I am looking forward to having another go!
