Welcome to Malifaux the city of Steampunk nightmares, mad Doctors and creatures so foul some wish they were Neverborn .
Rather than the standard dice based games out there Malifaux utilises the a deck of cards to initiate combat, cast spells and twist fate.
A game where every piece of terrain on the board can cause issues for your team or bolster it. All crews hunt for Soul Stones, magical gems of Malifaux, strange orbs that all Masters long for to dominate the board.
The Factions:
The Guild
These guys are the lawmen of Malifaux, dispensing justice when and where ever they see fit, they look to rid Malifaux of the Ressurectionists. From Lady Justice the judge of Malifaux city to Perdita the Mexican Gunslinger these guys are not to be sniffed at.
The Ressurectionists
The Undead Masters of the void. These guys are necromancers, raising the dead to do there bidding! Nicodem the Undertaker, chooses his corpses carefully then sends them out to do his bidding! Dr McMourning, all though working for the guild, is the Mourge doctor chopping and cutting up corpses to make undead creatures of nightmarish proportion.
The Arcanists
The Magicians and scientists of Malifaux. Always hunting for precious soul stones to use for their magical experiments. Ramos is the mad scientist of Malifaux, using steampunk mechanical robots to hunt for soul stones deep within Malifaux mines. Marcus the Beast master is the lord of Malifaux beasts, using strange and wonderful creatures to crush all that oppose him.
The Neverborn
Strange nightmarish creatures that people fear to mention. Take the Dreamer for example, a small boy who's nightmares and fears are manifested and come to life, like his friend the Boogieman or Lord Chompy bits! Trust me, best ot stay clear of this guy. But then there is Zorida the Hag, the Witch of Malifaux swamps, using her fortune telling skills to predict the fate of those that will seek her out......they never leave!
Lastly The Outcasts
Everyone else. The outcasts are those that remain nuteral and do not conform to the normal factions. For example, Hamelin the Plagued, the living plague of Malifaux who takes the shape of the pied piper, stealing children into the sewers and using Malifaux rats to do his bidding! Or Somer-Teeth Jones the Gremlin Warlord of Malifaux swams, taking no notice of his stupid Gremlin Kin, Somer-Teeth takes no notice of how many gremlins he dispatches to get his hands on Soul Stones!
But dont let me convince you check it out for yourself: www.wyrd-games.net
