OK so last night we had a 3 player 200 point infantry only no teams game. Heavy on the scenery with lots of buildings. I had 1 HQ and 2 5 man squads, Martin had the same and Brian had the same plus his free 11 man squad for being a Bolshevik swinehund .
So with only a few order dice you would think this would have been over in a flash, NOPE. It proved very tactical with lots of cover and taking houses to reach the objectives. I lost my first squad almost straightaway when I charged one of Martins squads and got wiped out due to some rubbish dice rolling.
Anyway units were whittled down slowly and in the end Martin took the day with 2 men left by taking out my 2 remaining FJ and thens Brians lone Commisar.
A very good game proving you dont need shed loads of tanks etc to enjoy BA.

A great, fun game! Yet again proving my favourite saying: "Size isn't everything!" Lol! With a total of 10 order dice in the pot, I expected to get at least a couple of games.... but I was in no way disappointed as the game was absorbing and rewarded careful planning. My spate of lucky dice-rolls contributed much to my eventual victory and I survived the firepower of Steve's FJs and Brians Russians for much longer than I had any right to expect! ;D This game had a much more 'personal' feel to it IMHO.... allowing us to explore the rules for house-to-house conflict in greater depth than before. I would recommend this set-up to any BA player, regardless of experience, and I very much look forward to more games of this type! Thanks guys for a tense but fun game! ;D

I'm particularly looking forward to the infantry battles, it's what most attracted me to Op Squad and I'm hoping this can recapture my love of series like Band of Brothers.

Well after Christmas mate you will have to get a load of practice in with the guys to get ready for Salute. Infantry games are the nuts as they make you think more. Also they leave themselves open to objective based games more.

Martin Hatt is buying my Wargames Factory Germans and my PSC Russians off me, so we will have one more for BA in the new year. Still waiting of my brother to get some more plasterboard for me off site so I can tack the ceiling, then full steam ahead on my board

Excellent news mate. Jon is champing at the bit to get you guys running ready for Salute and more general gaming. A huge battle with a few generals a side would be awesome.

British take control ?? Do you mean advance that Croc up the table and get it shot in the flank again lol. Herr Steiner and his boys will always control the field of battle.
